![]() Dear Curious Souls, As we make our way into 2022 and our world still feels upside down, I know that people are really struggling. To respond, I’m expanding my philosophical counseling practice to provide unique ways to address feelings of disorientation and powerlessness. Do you or people you care about:
Philosophical counseling is different from psychotherapy in that it focuses on difficulties of the human condition — like the search for meaning, dealing with ethical dilemmas, and finding ways to claim your freedom in a world of external pressures and expectations — rather than on mental illness or behavioral disorders. As hard as times of crisis can be, they are also a great opportunity to examine your life, get clear about what really matters to you, and get creative in making a better path for yourself. The rates for philosophical counseling are on a sliding scale, and I have a special discounted rate for students to make counseling as accessible as I can. I recommend starting with three sessions, then pausing to take stock together to see what level of support you’d like going forward.
